The upcoming album features 14 new tracks, which Ed expressed to his fans during the Instagram live stream, that it was a painful process to narrow down his songs to just 14 to be on the album. Talking about what inspired the album and the cover art, the singer said “I painted part of the cover over lockdown, just splatting paint on a canvas and then my friend Zac has designed the cover, which is great. You will see the chrysalis cocoon that’s on there… symbolism behind the new album is new life.” he added, “Over the last four years, I’ve been through different experiences in life, including getting married, having a kid, losing friends and I just felt like the butterfly symbolism fit in with that.”

His upcoming single will be “Visiting hours” which can be been on the track list. The song was written by Sheeran for his friend Michael who passed away earlier this year.

The single will be released on the 10th of September and the album is available for pre-order now.
