Emily Ratajkowski, Shay Mitchell, Madonna come out on TikTok

Thanks to TikTok trends, not one, but three celebrities have come out as part of the LGBTQ community. Shay Mitchell, Emily Ratajkowski and Madonna recently came out. In a video, TikTok user NourishedWithTrish asks: “If you identify as bisexual, do own a green velvet couch?”

Shay Mitchell was the first to respond to the question with a video of herself sitting on a deep green sofa. Almost immediately, fans flocked to the comments to celebrate.

A few days later, Emily Ratajkowski stitched Mitchell’s video with her own response to the question. She pulled the camera away from her face to show off her own green velvet couch, before grinning at the camera.

Madonna on the other hand used another TikTok trend to express her sexuality. The artist used the sound “If I miss, I’m gay,” created by TikTok user @stipps. In her video, Madonna tosses out a pair of hot pink underwear in the trash. After missing the shot, she flashes a peace sign and walks away.

Shay Mitchell has always been queer

Shay Mitchell has previously said that she’s attracted to all genders, but has refused to put a label on her sexuality. This recent TikTok is the first time she refers to herself as bisexual.

In 2017, Mitchell told Maxim that she doesn’t label her sexuality, much like her character in Pretty Little Liars.

“People always ask me, ‘You play a gay character? Are you gay? Are you straight? Are you this? Are you that?’” she said. “Look, Emily doesn’t label herself, and I don’t label myself either. I fall in love with the spirit of somebody. Love is love, and that’s something I’ll keep saying.”

Shay Mitchell and her boyfriend

Shay is currently dating Matte Babel. The two have been romantically linked since January 2017. Their first daughter, Atlas, was born on October 2019. They welcomed a second daughter, Rome, on February 2022.

Despite being focused on their marriage and their children, Shay and Matte don’t plan on getting married any time soon.

“I don’t know if I’ve done anything in order. I didn’t get married before a child. I had a child, didn’t get married. I don’t really know if that’s in the cards for us. I don’t know, I think we both agree, maybe it’s just me. I’m not in a rush to get married,” Shay told People in an interview.

“There’s no pressure here. I love it. I love the fact that we come home and every day I’m like, ‘I choose you and you choose me.’ It keeps us on our toes,” added the actress. “I’m like, ‘Hey, I can walk out. I don’t need to go through a lawyer, I can just walk.’ And same with him. It keeps it sexy. I think we both like it like this.”

Emily Ratajkowski’s new romance

Emily Ratajkowski is rumoured to be spending time with Brad Pitt. However, it’s not certain if “it’s serious and they don’t appear to be dating formally.”

Emily ended her marriage with Sebastian Bear-McClad on September 2022, after four years and a son together. Sebastian’s infidelity was the cause of the divorce. The model got a new apartment to get away from her ex-husband and to start a new life. A source confirmed to Page Six that Sebastian was indeed unfaithful to Emily.

“He’s a serial cheater. It’s gross. He’s a dog,” the source said.

Madonna, an ally

After the viral TikTok video, fans started speculating whether Madonna is truly bisexual, gay or if it’s just a TikTok trend.

Madonna has been an ally to the LGBTQ community for decades. She supported the destigmatizing of HIV and the legalization of gay marriage during the 80s.

“Everybody has a bisexual nature. That’s my theory. I could be wrong,” Madonna told The Advocate in 1991.

Currently, the superstar is linked to to Dominican artist, Tokischa. Madonna and Tokischa made a song together titled “Hung Up on Tokischa,” and the two share kisses on the music video. They also kissed at Paris Fashion Week.

Previously, Madonna has been in relationships with her backup dancer, Ahlamalik Williams, Sean Penn, and Guy Ritchie.

Velma Dinkley is also out

An addition to the list of celebrities and famous names coming out as gay or bisexual is Scooby-Doo character, Velma Dinkley. The news was revealed in the brand-new animated movie “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo.”

James Gunn, who wrote the live-action Scooby-Doo films, was straight forward about it. “In 2001, Velma was explicitly gay in my initial script, but the studio just kept watering it down and watering it down, becoming ambiguous, then nothing and finally having a boyfriend.”
