Emma Stone locks down a deal for “Cruella 2”

Oscar-winner Emma Stone has struck a deal to star in the sequel to Cruella.

Stone’s first film, Cruella due to the pandemic, premiered in theaters and at Disney + PVOD on May 26th. Earnings from ticket sales amounted to more than $ 222 million.

“While the media landscape has been severely disrupted for all distributors, their creative partners cannot stand aside to carry a disproportionate lack of growth potential. This agreement demonstrates that there can be a fair way forward that protects artists and aligns studio interests with talent. We are proud to work with Emma and Disney and appreciate the studio’s willingness to acknowledge its contribution as a creative partner. We hope this will open the door for more members of the creative community to participate in the success of the new platforms. ”- Endeavor Executive Chairman Patrick Whitesell on Stone’s Cruella 2 deal.

For work on the sequel, as previously announced, original director Craig Gillespie and scribe Tony McNamara are returning.
