Hulu will revive the cult animated series “Futurama”

Streaming service Hulu will revive the cult animated series Futurama, which ran for seven seasons through 2013.

The original creators, Matt Groening and David Cohen, will be working on the new series.

The original cast will also voice the characters of the animated series: Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeill, Lauren Tom, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, and David Hernan.

John DiMaggio has not yet joined the project, but the producers hope for his return to the role of Bender.

According to Deadline, it was impossible to agree with him since the actor counted on a more significant fee.

Fans of the series who don’t want to hear another Bender’s voice are actively calling for DiMaggio to return. The actor thanked the fans for their support.

John DiMaggio: “Thanks for the concern and the props, everyone. I really appreciate it. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted, but until then… CHEESE IT! #bendergate”

Futurama returns

A total of 20 episodes are planned to be released, which will premiere in 2023. The exact date is not yet known. The development of the first episodes will begin in February.

Futurama is about the life of pizza delivery man Philip Fry, who accidentally froze himself on the last day of 1999 and woke up a thousand years later. He met the one-eyed mutant Leela and the robot Bender in his new life, who became his friends.
