Katy Perry Has A Weird Mid-Concert Eye ‘Glitch’
Katy Perry suffered a mid-concert incident that caused fans to think she might be a robot.
During a performance of her Las Vegas “Play” residency, Katy Perry’s right eye seemed to “glitch.” The pop superstar even pressed her finger against her temple in an attempt to keep her eyelid from drooping. In a few seconds, Katy managed to raise her eyelid and everything went back to normal.
Fans react
Videos of the glitch went viral on social media and the reactions range from concerned to amused.
“Her clone was glitching. That’s scary,” a fan wrote in a TikTok comment. “Her robot seems to glitch a lot,” another one said.
Someone else opined: “It wasn’t the eye thing that was weird it was the fact she acted like it didn’t happen and went on with the show…”
However, others found hilarity in the moment. “That baby doll you had as a kid with the eye that kept closing,” someone joked on TikTok. “She lost the wifi connection,” amused another.
Katy Perry responds
The superstar shared the viral video herself on Instagram, along with an explanation of what happened.
“Welcoming all my #flatearthers #spaceisfakers #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year!” Katy wrote. “The show’s set list is a fun ride through memory lane going all the way back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen by the paranoia of our own echo chambers! This show is a nonstop party about finding unconditional love and strangely (for me) not political at all.”
Birthday celebrations
On October 25th, Katy celebrated her 38th birthday. She gave fans a glimpse into her special day with her fiance Orlando Bloom and their two year old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
Katy posted a picture of the three and wrote: “Every time I blow a candle out I always wish for you. 38 and grateful.”
Orlando Bloom also posted a sweet tribute about her birthday.
“Each time we take a trip around the sun and get to celebrate you, I’m reminded that on this journey together and whatever the weather I’m always smiling,” the actor wrote.
