Kylie Jenner’s Boyfriend Travis Scott Is Being Sued Over the Deaths at Astroworld
Rapper Travis Scott became an unwitting participant in a tragic incident that took the lives of eight people.
The singer performed at the Astroworld music festival in Houston, which was supposed to take place earlier in the year but was postponed due to the coronavirus. This event caused a great stir and attracted a huge number of fans.
During the rapper’s performance, his fans began to break through to the stage, resulting in a crowd surge. More than three hundred people were injured, eight people died, and a ten-year-old child was among the dead.
One of the victims at the concert filed a lawsuit against the rapper, accusing the star of contributing to the violence. He is seeking at least $1,000,000 in damages and a temporary restraining order to prevent any destruction of possible evidence.
The lawsuit details the chaos that unfolded after fans broke through the security fence and stampeded. According to the plaintiff, the defendants deliberately made the decision to allow the show to continue, despite the high risk of harm to the concert goers.
A source close to Travis Scott said that the rapper did not know about the scale of the incident when he was on stage, because of the spotlights, the rapper could not see the whole tragedy taking place in the crowd.
In an official statement on Saturday, Scott, who is now one of the most successful and popular rap artists (his album Astroworld, which was released in 2018, went double platinum), expressed condolences to the families of the victims and announced his willingness to cooperate with the police.
“I’m devastated by what took place absolutely last night, My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld festival.”
Kylie Jenner, who is now expecting her second child from Travis, also expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims.
