Madonna reveals she turned down a role in The Matrix, and now “regrets just that one moment in my life.”
Music icon Madonna on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon revealed that she was offered a role in The Matrix and regrets turning it down.
She gained worldwide fame with her solo album “Madonna” in 1983 and became the best-selling singer of all time. In addition to her musical career, Madonna has also starred in over 20 films, including 1996’s “Evita”, which gave her a Golden Globe for Best Actress.
Fallon mentioned Madonna being offered the Catwoman role in Batman Returns, and the lead role in Showgirls, but the singer was much more interested in talking about how she could become a part of The Matrix and refused it.
Although the singer admitted that the decision not to star in The Matrix is something that really haunts her to this day. Check out her comments:
