Nicole Kidman is given permission to enter Hong Kong and not Quarantine
Nicole Kidman has caused a wave of complaints as she was allowed to not quarantine as she traveled to Hong Kong to film her new Amazon Prime series.
The actress arrived in Hong Kong two days ago and has already been pictured walking around the city without quarantine like the rest of the general public has to do upon arrival into the county. This comes as a shock and outrage to most, as the country has the most strict coronavirus rules in the world.
Kidman was given special permission to skip the city’s coronavirus quarantine rule as she entered the country to film a new Amazon Prime video series called Expats. This comes right after the government has announced even tougher measures for its people and for those who wish to travel to Hong Kong within the next few hours.
A government official confirmed the special pass given to the Oscar-winning actress, saying that it was granted to her as an individual who entered the country for “Designated professional work”.
The statement says “ The case in discussion has been granted permission to travel to Hong Kong with a quarantine exemption for the purpose of performing designated professional work, taking into account that It is conducive to maintaining the necessary operation and development of Hong Kong’s economy”. They did not name Mrs. Kidman by name but it surely has raised questions and anger towards the locals and to those wishing to travel to the country.
