Born in March 2005, the music guru began writing songs at age 19 after songwriter Sam Hook had recruited him, the youngster then started writing songs for British songstress Ella Mai and then went on to work with English singer-songwriter, YUNGBLUD. This year’s BMI awards saw the artist bagging several awards which is a testament to his influence on the music industry since he joined. The 22-year-old attended the event with his girlfriend, Addison Rae, and his manager, Conor Ambrose where he went home with the “song of the year award” for his work on 24KGoldn’s song “Mood”.
He also won the “Song Writer of the Year” award which he tied with fellow record producer, Michael Pollack.
Omer Fedi’s recognition at the BMI awards shows how respected he is even though he just started a few years ago. According to BMI, his songs “Mood”, “Stay” and “Without You” were among the 50 most performed songs in the year under review.
