Scream Returns as Courteney Cox and Neve Campbell reprise their original roles
Scream returns for the fifth installment of the Scream film series. Though billed as a relaunch of the franchise, the film is a direct sequel to 2011’s Scream 4, and the first in the series not to be directed by Wes Craven, who died in 2015.
David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Roger L. Jackson, and Marley Shelton Scream return to reprise their original roles. They are joined by franchise newcomers Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Dylan Minnette, Mikey Madison, Sonia Ben Ammar, and Kyle Gallner.

Campbell said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly “The idea of making these films without Wes Craven seemed challenging to me,”. “I loved the man very much. But Matt and Tyler wrote me a letter, speaking of their appreciation and great respect for Wes Craven, and speaking of the fact that the very reason that they are directors today was because of these movies and because of Wes, and that meant a great deal to me.”
