A photo making rounds on the internet shows Mike Thompson, the father of Alana Honey Boo Thompson, displaying a new set of teeth and hair. Mike Thompson claimed after the procedure that he couldn’t recognize himself when he looked into the mirror. Mike waxed lyrical about his new teeth claiming that he could boldly smile now.

Mike Thompson Gets His Teeth Replaced

All who have followed the TV reality star cannot miss his decaying teeth and bald head which he hides by constantly wearing a hat. Fortunately, a cosmetic dentist Dr. Joseph Goodman took Mike in and replaced 20 of his teeth with snap-in dentures. The whole procedure cost a little over $36,000 and was done in the private facility of a good doctor in Beverly Hills.

Mike Thompson Also Had Botox Injections

Aside from the new pearly whites that he received, Sugar Bear Thompson’s younger look is also the result of Botox injections. According to reports, Dr. David Saadat injected 75 units of Botox into Sugar Bear’s forehead, eyebrows, and the corners of his eyes.

Mike Thompson Gets An FUE Hair Transplant

In addition to the teeth replacement and Botox injections, the 50-year-old also got a new hair transplant from the FUE Hair Clinic of Pasadena. The FUE technology does not require scalpels and stitches rather it involves transplanting hair follicles to areas of the scalp where the balding is taking place.

This procedure can take a couple of hours (usually between 3 and 4) over several days. However, those who don’t have the patience to wait that long can pay for a full day session which takes between 10 – 12 hours to complete.

Reports indicate that Sugar Bear Thompson required about 3500 follicles of hair to fill the front part of his head.

Usually, the newly transplanted hair takes up to 4 months to grow and up to 18 months to achieve full density. The process can be grueling and take a long time to heal, thus Sugar Bear Thompson was given PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and embryonic stem cells to help him heal quickly.

Sugar Bear’s Gray Hair and Beard Also Received A Touch Up

Once, the painful aspects of his makeover were over, Mike Sugar Bear Thompson had his graying hair and beard dyed to complement his new image. The whole process cost him $68 and he ended up falling in love with his fresh look.

When a mirror was given to him to check out his looks, the former Mama June star struggled to hold back his tears. “I never thought I could have a smile that I would be proud of “, said Sugar Bear. “And I really love the Botox because I look a lot younger”.

Mike then claimed he couldn’t recognize the man he saw whenever he looked in the mirror. “I haven’t stopped looking in the mirror”, said the excited Sugar Bear. “I don’t recognize the man in the mirror.”

The Hollywood makeover has lifted the spirit and the image of Sugar Bear making him appear about 10 years younger.
