The Squid Game Has a Rival Hellbound Now

The new South Korean horror premiered on November 19 and almost immediately became the most-watched Netflix project in many countries.

The show was directed by Yeon Sang-ho, who directed films such as Train to Busan, Telekinesis, and others.

The plot of the series is based on a comic strip created specifically for reading from a smartphone, the author of which was the same director Yeon Sang-ho.

The Hellbound takes us to 2023, where people suddenly begin to receive messages about the exact date of their death. Soon after, monsters come for them and send people to hell.

Society is seized by mass hysteria, and this creates the background for a wave of religious fanaticism.

It is worth noting that recently South Korean cinema has become very popular among viewers around the world, as evidence of this can be not only the series Hellbound and the Squid Games, but also the triumph of the film “Parasite” at the Oscars in 2020.
