The star of “The Wire” Michael K. Williams is found dead
Actor Michael K. Williams, who played Omar Little in “The Wire” and “Chalky” in “The Boardwalk Empire”, died at the age of 54.
The actor was found dead on Monday afternoon in his Brooklyn apartment. There is no official information about the circumstances of Williams’ death yet.
The Associated Press reported that his death is being investigated as possible due to a drug overdose.
Williams has been nominated for an Emmy Award four times in his career. He was born and lived in New York City his entire life and has appeared in over 50 film and television projects, including “The Night Of”, “Bessie”, “Snitch”, “12 Years a Slave”, “Assassin’s Creed”, and “Lovecraft Country”.
