ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill has passed away.

As it became known, Dusty died at the age of 72, at his home in Houston, Texas – this, according to his bandmates, Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard.

On social media, they write: “We are saddened by today’s news that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, Texas. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your continued presence. your good nature and unwavering commitment to securing this monumental bottom for The Apex. We will forever be associated with this “Blues Shuffle in C.” The boys add, “You will be sorely missed, amigo.”

It is not yet clear what exactly Dusty’s death is connected with. Although it is known that he recently suffered a thigh injury, due to which he was forced to abandon a number of gigs in the United States with his bandmates.

Dusty Hill is one of the original founding members of ZZ Top and has acted as lead bassist and second lead vocalist since they formed the rock band in 1969.
